1 April 2008 - Goodbye Robins Netball Club!
The Committee and Coaching Teams of Robins Netball Club have to report that the time has come for Robins Netball Club to cease in its present format.
This was a very difficult decision to reach but for personal reasons and for their own personal development some of the clubs officials have moved on. One of them being our own founder and head coach Jane Milbourn! Those of us remaining are sad to see them go but wish them every success for the future.
In light of this reorganization it has been agreed that the current members that are thirteen years old and above will be referred to and recommended to other local teams.
The girls remaining will join the new club, to be known as Flames Netball Club, so that the coaches that remain will be able to continue offering the game of netball to school year 8s and below. Details of the new club can be found at www.flamesnetballclub.co.uk.
All that is left is to wish everyone, players (past and present), their parents, coaches, and officials, who have been a part of Robins Netball Club good luck for the future in their netball career!
Thank you Jane for giving so many girls the opportunity to play the wonderful game of netball and from the rest of the coaching team for the encouragement and mentoring and for allowing us the opportunity to be able to assist you and be part of the wonderful success story that was Robins Netball Club!
9 March 2008 - Chelmsford League Knockout Cup - Finals Day
|
Congratulations
to both teams for reaching the Knockout Cup Finals!
Both teams had very hard matches and all girls played excellently. Robins Aquarius ended up runners up and Robins Scorpio finished Winners. Well done to all - you have again done Robins proud! |

September 2007 - Welcome Back!
Welcome back to Robins Netball and we hope that, like us, you are well rested and eager to start a new season. The trials have taken place and five squads have been selected for playing in the Basildon League and six for the Chelmsford Junior League (two squads in the following age groups - Yr5/6 and Yr7; one Yr8; and our first Yr8 squad has been entered in the age group above (yr9) for their personal development) . Most of you, in particular the Basildon Squads, will be starting the new season playing with different players and we know that you will enjoy the variety from last season.
5th July 2007 - Fun Session
To finish off the season, for the U14s and below, the Club held a fun session. Every one had a great time (even the coaches) as can be seen in the pictures below! The evening ended with a presentation of trophies to the players who were considered, by the coaches, to be the 'most improved player' and the 'player of the season' in each squad. The presentations were made by one of our England players Amy Fennelly who currently plays in the U17 squad.
The coaching team would like to congratulate all members of the club for their contribution towards Robins having another successful season. Here's to next year!

29th June - 1st July 2007 - Pontins Weekend
Despite the rain yet again another wonderful weekend was had by Robins Netball Club at Pontins! Congratulations to all our players! Both the Year 6 teams played well with Gemini qualifying for the quarter finals in the Plate Competition, and Scorpio ending the weekend by narrowly losing to Oldham in the Cup Final! Both our U12 and U13 squads qualified for their respective Cup Competitions. The U13s made it through to the quarter finals and the U12s lost to Oldham in the semi finals after extra time! Nail biting stuff! The Coaching Team are proud of all our players who were there representing Robins. You were a credit to the club. Who knows what will happen next year!

10th June 2007 - Under 14 National Club Finals
On a dry and sunny day our U14 squad went to Kent to play the other qualifiers around the country. The girls played really well but only the top two teams of each pool qualified for the play offs and, unfortunately, they narrowly missed this finishing third in their pool.
20th May 2007 - Tegate Invitational Tournament
The weather was a lot better on this day where we attended with one team in both the U12 and U13 groups. Again both teams played very well with the U12s getting to the finals where they met Essex Open and won. The U13s, playing a round robin tournament, also did well finishing in the middle of the group. Well done everyone, again another successful day for Robins!

The U12s played excellently and, despite some close games, made it through to the Finals which they won. The U13s also had a successful day and finished the day as semi finalists. 6th May 2007 - U14 Regional Netball Festival 2007
Robins NC attended the above Festival held at Stanborough School in Wellwyn Garden City to compete against other teams in the Eastern Region and qualify for the Finals to be held in June. It was a rather chilly, breezy day but some good netball was played. After a long day Robins finished 4th overall and, therefore, will be attending the Final. Well done to all the girls in the U14 squad you all played excellently!
30th April 2007 - U16 Regional League
Our U16 Regional Squad qualified in December as the representatives of the East Essex Area and entered a League playing the winners of the other six areas within the Eastern Region, involved them in games against teams from as far as Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire. Unfortunately they finished in second place so were unable to progress further and represent the Eastern Region. All the girls played well and enjoyed some close games. If you would like to see how we did follow the links on our Fixtures and Results Page. Good luck Turnford, from Hertfordshire, who finished winners and will represent the Eastern Region in Sheffield!
26th April 2007 - Congratulations!
Tonight was the Basildon League AGM and during the evening awards are presented. Congratulations go to our very own Head Coach Jane Milbourn who was presented with a special Long Service Award.

| What an Achievement! | |||||
| When
the Robins Netball Club was founded in 1998 by Jane Milbourn who would
have thought that some of the original 13 girls who started training at
Runwell Park, Wickford at the beginning would be in the Squad for the U19
Nationals 8 years later! Jane
will tell you that one of her main goals when she first perceived the idea
of founding a junior netball club was that she would one day win a
National Tournament and this, 8 years later, has been achieved!
Another of her goals was to bring netball to the local girls of
Wickford and then, with the move to Gloucester Park, Basildon, to the
girls in Basildon and beyond. This
has also come true when you consider that the club now boasts a membership
of over 120 girls, from 8 to 18 years old. These girls are not only local but come from as far a field
as Harold Wood, Chelmsford, and Southend.
On 4th November 2006 the U19 squad of Robins Junior Netball Club travelled to Bournemouth to compete in the National Youth Championship 2006/2007 (sponsored by the Royal Air Force), having qualified on 1st October 2006 at Bedford unbeaten in the prelims. To say that the squad members were ready was an understatement and in the officials camp there was a feeling that this year was the year, although past experience showed that you can never take anything for granted! |
|||||
|
|
The games were 7 minutes each way and the first game was against Hucclecote. We knew that this was going to be a hard game and it was. We ended up winning by just 1 goal with the final score being 9-8. Wins then followed against Cranfield Nomads, Lincoln City, Leyland, Eagles, New Cambell, Peeks, Team Northumbria, and Ingrebourne. This resulted in Robins qualifying for the quarter final playoffs as leaders of Group A. |
|
|||
| Group B was closer resulting in both the first and second placings and the third and fourth placings being decided on goal difference. | |||||
|
|
As winners of their group Robins played the Ampthill Astros in the quarter finals, who had finished fourth in Group B. This was a close game going goal for goal up to the last few minutes when Robins streamed ahead finally winning 12-8. |
|
|||
| In the semi finals Robins found themselves against YWCA Bury who had earlier beaten Oldham, Cliftonettes, Parkside, Essex Open, Telstars, Woodley, and Jersey Utd in the group stages and only being beaten by Ampthill Astros. When Robins went down immediately 0-5 some may have thought that this was it. However, the girls did not and after clawing their way back to 5-5 at half time they streamed ahead winning 15-10. | |||||

So this
was it, Oldham in the Finals! This was
not the first time that Robins had encountered Oldham in the final stages
of a national competition and on each of the previous occasions Oldham had
won. These meetings were in
the younger National Competitions and as a young club Robins learnt from
all these experiences. With
regard to the Final Robins Netball Club would like to quote from the press
release (by Rona Hunnisett) on the England Netball web site (www.englandnetball.co.uk)

15th October 2006 - Thurrock Rally
The weather, although cold, was sunny and dry. We entered one team in each of the following age groups:- Under 11, Under 12, and Under 13. The Under 11s were in a round robin playing all the teams in their group and the other two teams were in groups with semi finals and finals at the end. All teams played well! The Under 13s finished the day as Semi Finalists; the Under 12s finished Runners Up; the Under 11s finished Winners and were unbeaten on the day. Congratulations to you all!

1st October 2006 - Under 19 National Clubs - Heats
The venue was The David Bunyan Centre, Bedford. It was damp and threatening rain. Those that went will not forget that the M25 was closed because of an accident and so the tournament was delayed by half an hour to allow those players caught in it to arrive. A further delay took place two rounds later when it was agreed that the courts were slippery and so to prevent injury the tournament was to continue indoors. Despite all these disruptions the girls played excellently and finished the day unbeaten! Well done to you all and see you at the Finals on 4th November 2006 in Bournemouth!
September 2006 - Welcome Back!
Welcome back to Robins Netball and we hope that, like us, you are well rested and eager to start a new season. The trials have taken place and five squads have been selected for playing in the Basildon League and six (two squads in the following age groups - Yr5/6, Y7, and Y8) for the Chelmsford Junior League. 18th July 2006 - Congratulations Jane!
With Mavericks taking over from County in the England set up Jane Milbourn, our Head Coach, has been approached to be one of three assistant coaches to Kendra Slawinski OBE who is to head the Talent Squad coaching team. This is a tremendous achievement and all of us at Robins Netball Club offer our congratulations to Jane for receiving this appointment.
7th July 2006 - Robins Fun Night/Presentation Evening
With very short notice the Officials of the Club decided to deviate from the normal end of season Presentation Evening by holding a Role Reversal Tournament instead. The format for the evening was that the parents of each team would play in a Round Robin Tournament with their daughters watching and supporting from the side line, followed by the Presentation bit for the player of the year and most improved player per squad. Because of the short notice only the younger teams were involved and our thanks to all the parents who participated. Everyone, officials included, enjoyed themselves and although a few were threatened with the 'sin bin' no one was actually sent there! With the evening being so successful the plan is to expand on this for next year.
Click on Gallery to view the pictures taken during the evening.
30th June - 2nd July 2006 - Pontins Weekend
Yet again a wonderful weekend was had by Robins Netball Club at Pontins! Congratulations to all our teams! Both the Year 6 teams, and Aquarius qualified for the Cup Competition on Sunday along with the Year 7 squad which was a mixture of both teams! Virgo qualified for the Plate Competition. The Coaching Team are proud of all our players who were there representing Robins. You are a credit to the club. Both Aquarius and Virgo lost in their respective semi finals with the Year 7s finishing third in their group. Leos finished second in their group and Aries finished third in their group. Who knows what will happen next year!
10th June 2006 - National Junior Championship Finals 2005/2006
Robins NC had both their Under 14s and Under 13s qualify for this back in March. The weather was hot and sunny, a change from previous weekends! Despite some tough opposition both teams played very well. The Under 14s just failed to qualify for the knockout stage and the Under 13s, having qualified, met Oldham in the quarter finals. This was a brilliant game but as always there has to be a winner and this time it was not us. Despite the results on the day both teams enjoyed themselves playing clubs that they do not usually meet.
21st May 2006 - Tegate Tournament
Today saw Robins in Harlow, Essex, at Tegate. The weather started dry but when the rain started it did not stop! Despite this all the girls played well. Robins Virgo (Under 13), Libra (Under 12), and Aries (Under 11) all played well in their groups and Aries just missed getting into the semi finals! Robins Taurus (Under 12) and Aquarius (Under 13) qualified for their respective Final. Aquarius won theirs and Taurus finished as runners up going down by one goal after extra time! Well done to everyone, you all played excellently!
7th May 2006 - Chelmsford League Tournament
Robins Leo (Under 11), Robins Taurus (Under 12), and Robins Aquarius (Under 13) all attended the Chelmsford League Tournament. Despite the weather being very changeable all the teams played well and each finished in their respective Finals. Aquarius and Taurus both won their finals and Leos just narrowly missed joining them, finishing the day as runners up. Well done to all the girls. You all played excellently!

23rd April 2006 - Hertford Hornets Tournament
The Under 14 National Squad went to Hertford and had an enjoyable Tournament, despite the weather which was overcast and drizzly at times. The tournament was a Round Robin and the girls played well finishing third behind Turnford and Cheshunt, the only two teams they narrowly lost to. Well played girls! Good luck at Nationals!
3rd April 2006 - Basildon League Knockout Cup Competitions - Finals
After many matches Robins 2 and Robins 3 made it through to the finals in their respective cup competitions. Robins 4 lost in the semi finals to Emeralds, the team that Robins 3 were to play in the Finals!
Unfortunately with the Finals being played in the Easter Holidays girls were away on holiday and with other players injured Robins 2 had insufficient squad members available. With the cup rules such that the team could not call on any other players from the Club, and the request for a postponement being declined, Robins 2 had no option but to conceded the game. The League awarded them medals as finalists.
Robins 3 having seven players played an excellent Final in their Cup competition finishing as winners. Well done girls!

The U13 and U14 Heats for us was held at the Bunyan Centre in Bedford. It was a sunny, dry day although COLD! Both squads played well throughout and qualified for the Finals to be held on 10th June 2006. Well done and congratulations to all players!
14th February 2006 - Congratulations!
As you are now all aware even us coaches have to attend courses and congratulations go to Amanda Jones who has successfully passed her Level 2 Coaching Award. Well done Amanda from all the officials at Robins Netball Club!
18th January 2006 - Individual Successes!

On
the weekend of 15th January 2006 Robins Netball Club had three girls
attend an England Selection weekend. At the end of the weekend the
Club had three England players!
This is a tremendous achievement and we are very proud of them. The girls have worked and trained extremely hard and this success is richly deserved. Congratulations to Amy Fennelly and Abigail Ryan who have both been selected into the England Under 17 Squad and to Monique Wood who has been selected into the Under 19 Squad! |
26th November 2005 - Race Night
Well done to those who attended our fundraising event we hope you all had a good time. The club made a profit on the night of £375.00.
It is, however, such a shame that when these events are arranged so few turn up. In this case, if you ignore the officials, all of whom were there, less than 10% of the club's membership attended. A lot of work goes into organizing these events and the proceeds go towards keeping the costs of running the club down as well as the cost of attending rallies and other competitions. Some of these can be very expensive and, as you can appreciate, if insufficient funds are forthcoming from fundraising then the contributions made by those attending will have to increase! Lets hope that more people will be there next time!
21st November 2005 - Well Done!
Congratulations to one of our coaches Rose St Louis who has just passed her Level 2 coaching qualification and is now qualified to coach at club level!
19th November 2005 - National Youth Championships - Finals - Under 16 and Under 19
Despite a late start to the day, due mainly to the frost on the courts making them unplayable the day went very well. Both teams played excellently but unfortunately just missed out getting into the knockout stage. With about 90% of both teams being at the younger end of the age brackets both will be back next year!
16th October 2005 - Thurrock Rally
Another lovely day saw the Under 14 squad attending the Thurrock Rally. We all had a great day despite a slow start and narrowly missed getting into the play offs by one point! Next time girls, it'll be our turn!
9th October 2005 - Nationals Youth Championships - Regional Heats- Under 16 and Under 19
On a glorious day, crisp and sunny, we went to Ipswich to compete in the Heats. It was a completely successful day with both squads qualifying for the Finals on 19th November 2005 at Redbridge! The Under 19s ended the day as overall winners of the heats and the Under 16s were runners up. Congratulations to everyone and see you on 19th November 2005 at the Finals!

3rd October 2005 - Fundraiser!
Robins Netball Club are holding a Race Night on Saturday 26th November 2005. If you have not received your flyer yet please ask your coach for one. This event is for the whole family and, if the last one that we had is anything to go by, should be a great laugh with everyone enjoying themselves. Family Tickets can be purchased as well as individual ones. For those gamblers out there all the eight races require a sponsor. The first eight to contact Ian at Ian@robinsnetball.com will have their name (or company name) in the programme! So don't delay!
September 2005 - Welcome Back!
Welcome back to Robins Netball and we hope that, like us, you are well rested and eager to start a new season. The trials have taken place and four squads have been selected for playing in the Basildon League and six (two squads in the following age groups - Yr5/6, Y7, and Y8) for the Chelmsford Junior League. Most of you, in particular the Basildon Squads, will be starting the new season playing with different players and we know that you will enjoy the variety from last season.
Robins AGM
Further to the Clubs AGM at the beginning of September the Committee would like to welcome Suzanne Burgess who was nominated (proposed and seconded) to join them as Welfare Officer. The Club holds Duty of Care to its young members very high and Sue will be there for anyone (player or parent) who has a grievance and feels that the club is not fulfilling its obligations with respect to the Codes of Conduct as mentioned on this web site. Sue's first request was that all players, parents, and officials should read and refresh themselves with the points mentioned on those pages!
As with everyone else on the Committee Sue was also nominated and voted in for a second role on the Committee; that of Vice Chairman.
Please note that once formalities are completed you will be able to contact Sue via her own e mail address details of which will be found on our 'Who to Contact' page.
14th August 2005 - Performance Camp
Congratulations to Amy Fennelly, Abigail Ryan, and Monique Wood who were all selected last week!!! Both Amy and Abigail are in the England Talent 1 long squad and Monique is in the England Talent 2 long squad. When you consider that only the best 20 athletes in the country at U17 and U19 level were picked this is a tremendous achievement. Well done!

Congratulations go to Amy Fennelly and Abigail Ryan who have now been invited to attend a four day England National Screening Camp in August along with the current U17/U19 squad members. Well done girls - enjoy yourselves!
9th July 2005 - Under 14 National Finals!
Well, there we were in Manchester at the Under 14 National Finals. It was hot (very hot) and we had brilliant sunshine. We were ready and looking forward to a good day of netball. Needless to say we were not disappointed. All the girls played tremendously well and went into the final knockout stages without dropping a game. The semi final against Oldham was very close and probably the best game that the girls had played all day with both teams taking the lead in turn. The eventual winner was Oldham who went on to win the Tournament - well done to them. Congratulations to our girls! Everyone played excellently and you can all be proud of yourselves - who knows next time...............?
2nd July 2005 - Potential Talent
More Congratulations!
Amy Fennelly, Abigail Ryan, and Danielle Dornan ,whilst the younger age groups were at Pontins, all had a very busy day at an England Potential Talent Camp and we are proud to say that they have now been invited to attend a National Screening day in Loughborough next Sunday 10th July 2005. Virgo lost in their semi final; Libra finished third in their group (on goal difference); Taurus lost in the semi finals and Aquarius played a very close game in the quarter finals and ended up losing on a golden goal. Who knows what will happen next year!

To give our Under 14 National Squad some additional match play they were entered in the above tournament. They played exceptionally well, some girls in a variety of positions. The tournament was arranged in a Round Robin format and the girls ended the day as runners up behind the only club that they dropped a point to. Well played girls and good luck in Manchester! |
20th May 2005 - Robins NC Tournament
It is with extreme regret that we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone our planned netball tournament on Sunday 19th June 2005. This was due to a number of factors, one of which was that there was not a sufficient number of teams entering to make what we would consider to be a good quality competition. In view of the success of our last tournament (which some of you may remember was held in September 2003) we felt that clubs would quite rightly expect a similar number of games against a variety of opponents, which, on this occasion we would not have been able to provide. We send our apologies to those clubs that did enter and look forward to seeing you when a rearranged date is fixed.

Sunday 8th May 2005 - Chelmsford League Tournament!
|
Another busy day! This time we took one team from each age group (Under11, Under12, Under13, and Under14). As with the previous weekend all teams had an excellent day and all played well! All age groups played a Round Robin Tournament with the Under 11s and Under 14s being overall winners on the day! |

Sunday 1st May 2005 - Tegate Tournament!
|
Having recovered from yesterday we now took 2 Under 11 teams and one Under 14 team to New Hall! Again all teams played well and had a good time. The Under 11s played in a Round Robin tournament and finished 4th (Taurus) and 7th (Libra). The Under 14s did have a semi final and a final where they played Lincoln. A great match and very close! This time Lincoln were the winners! |

Saturday 30th April 2005 - Essex Open Tournament!
The start of a hectic
weekend saw us taking an Under 12 team and an Under 13 team to Barkingside!
Both teams played well and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The Under 13s
made it through to the Quarter Finals but the Under 12s went that bit further
and, having played Jersey in the semi's (a great game that was worthy of a
final), they lost to Hertford Hornets in the final! Well done to both
teams!

Friday 8th April 2005 - Attention Robins1, 2, 4, and 5!
All Members who are in School Year 10 and above should all have received a letter letting them know that there will be no training for them next term. You deserve a rest! Details of the Basildon's'Pick and Mix' Summer League fixtures will be sent to you when received.

No
time to rest! After Sunday, Monday
evening saw the coaches and the above teams at Gloucester Park for the Basildon
League’s Knockout Cup Finals. Another
successful night saw Robins 2 winning their final. Again, as with the day before, two Robin’s teams had to
play each other in their final. Again
this was not easy for either teams or the coaches!
However, both Robins 5 and Robins 6 played an excellent game but, as with
the day before, there had to be a winner and this time it was Robins 6.
Sunday
3rd April 2005 -

Congratulations to Robins Capricorn, Robins Aquarius, Robins Taurus, and

Today
saw the coaches and the above teams at New Hall for the Chelmsford Junior
Netball League’s Knockout Cup Finals. All
the girls played excellently and both Capricorn and Aquarius won!
Robins Taurus and Robins Libra had to play each other in the Final.
This is never easy, either for the coaches or the players. All the girls played very well but unfortunately there has to
be a winner and this time it was Taurus.
All in
Robins
Netball Club had a very successful day!

20th March 2005 - Well Done Girls!!
Under 14 Squad |
Wow!
What a day we had on Sunday. Both the Under 13s and the Under 14s
played excellently all day, and both qualified for the playoffs. The
Under 14s were top of their Group and the Under 13s were second in
theirs. Unfortunately the Under 13s, being second, had two more
games to play. They lost in this grouping by the eventual winners on
the day, Cheshunt.
The Under 14s continued as they started and not only qualified for the National Finals but ended the day as the heat winners! Well done girls! See you in Manchester! |
12th March 2005 - Under 13 and Under 14 Nationals - Prelim's
GOOD LUCK to both squads for this coming Sunday we know that you will do us proud. Enjoy the day! Anyone else who would like to come along for the day and support your club you are more than welcome and we will be pleased to see you.
Please note that the venue for this is
Hassenbrook School in Stanford-le-Hope.

11th February 2005 - Fantastic
News!!!

Congratulations to Monique Wood who has been selected for the ENGLAND U17 SQUAD to compete in the forthcoming FENA championships in March. Monique has been a member of ROBINS NETBALL CLUB since the clubs conception when she was 10 years old. This is a tremendous achievement for herself, her family and of course the club. Her success is the result of 3 and a half years hard work and shows complete dedication to our sport. We are very proud of her and hopefully she is the first of many!!! |
27th October 2004 - England Netball Magazine
All players who play in the Basildon League have to be affiliated to England Netball. One of the perks of this is a magazine which goes out every other month and the latest issue is in the process of being sent. If you play in one of our Basildon teams and have not received your magazine by the end of next week can you please let us know.
25th October 2004 - Congratulations!
As you are all aware even us coaches have to attend courses and congratulations go to Helen Jewell who has successfully passed her Level 2 Coaching Award. Well done Helen from all the officials at Robins Netball Club!
Also, congratulations go to Rose St Louis and Amanda Jones who have successfully completed a Level 1 Assistant coaching course.
22nd October 2004 - Training
Just a quick note to remind all you players that there will be no training next week as it is half term. Training for Year 8's and above will resume the following Thursday (4th November) as normal. Training for Year 7 and below will also be on this Thursday (4th November) as the Friday is bonfire night and the times for these groups will be 6.30pm to 8.00pm. This change to training will be for this week only and will revert back to Fridays (5.30pm to 7.00pm) the week after (12th November).
10th October 2004 - Under 16s Nationals - Preliminary Heat
The rain held off, although it was windy, but a great day for netball. And, what great netball there was! Our Under 16s played wonderfully and entered the play offs (knockout stage) unbeaten. Here, they met Medway Panthers. The game was close with each team taking the lead in turn. The game went into extra time and then we were playing for the golden goal! Unfortunately Medway got there first and we were knocked out. This was probably the best game of the day and our girls did the club proud. Well done to you all and don't forget there is always next year!
8th October 2004 - Club of the Year Award
Tonight the Basildon Sports Council honoured Robins Netball Club by presenting us at their Annual Award Ceremony with the Les Davis Trophy as Club of the Year. This is an award that covers all sports (not just netball) and as such we are proud of this achievement.

3rd October 2004 - The Start of the Season!
At the start of yet another season we would like to issue a warm welcome to everyone. In particular we would like to say welcome to those who have just joined us.
Training is going well and now that we have the older girls coming to us on a Thursday, with the younger ones staying on Friday, the coaches are not so rushed and actually have more time to devote to the girls than before.
Both the Basildon and Chelmsford Leagues have begun and all out teams have had a successful start. To see how they are all doing do not forget to visit our 'Fixtures and Results' page, which is now operational.
Good luck to our Under 16 National Squad who will be competing in the preliminary heat to be held on Sunday 10th October, at Hassenbrooks School, Stanford le Hope. Supporters will be more than welcome.
August 2004 - Edited from 'The Robins Times' (Summer Edition)
Well Done Robins!
What a successful year the club has had! All teams played well in both Basildon and Chelmsford leagues, as you can see by just clicking on our Achievements box above. Below all the teams successes you will find all the individual successes achieved by our members! Each year the list gets greater! Special mention must be made of Monique Wood who, at the age of 15, was selected for the Under 19 England Squad (by-passing the Under 17s) and who also attended an England Talent 1 Camp. Other success to be mentioned belong to Danielle Dornan, Lizzie Hudson, Claire Jackson, and Michelle Milbourn who attended England Potential Talent Camps. Also, Lizzie Hudson has been invited to attend an England Talent Screening Day in September, and Monique Wood is to tour South Africa with the England Under 21 Development Squad. We wish both girls the best of luck and will keep you posted as to how they get on!
Presentation Night
This was held on Saturday 10th June and was a great success! It went very well and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Well done to Jane for keeping the presentation bit short so we could get back to the dancing! Thanks to you the raffle raised £141 and following on from last year the raffle prizes were hidden in paper bags and there was much fun watching people look inside to see what they had won!
An Important Note for those girls playing in the Basildon League!
All the girls who play in the Basildon League have to be affiliated to England Netball and as such one of the 'perks' of this membership is that you receive a magazine every two months. It has come to our attention that some of you have not! If you are one of these can you please let us know so that we can contact them direct and get it sorted!
Training Fees
Many thanks to all of you who paid your fees last season by Bank Standing Order. Anything that relieves the heavy workload of the Committee is a blessing and this certainly did! With this in mind we are asking that even more of you pay by this method next season. You only need to complete the form enclosed with the posting you received and take it to your bank for them to arrange the payments. One thing to note is please make sure that the reference given is the players name, or names, as this makes allocating them much easier!
